I know, I know, I still am due a Monday post. I’ll get to that at some point. Tuesday was tropical, our theme as well as our weather. We were decked out in Hawaiian shirts and leis ready for a heat index over 100.

All is well in camp tonight, a little drippy, a little muddy, very very damp and the frogs are still singing at the pool.

The day started as normal. Everyone continued their classes. More on that later.

During the final period of the day the thunder shut things down. Things rumbled, and lightning flashed and as the line of storms move closer camp shut down activities and a shelter in place message went out.

All our girls were safely sheltered in their program areas as it rained and rained and poured.

After the storms cleared we got the all clear to come to dinner at the dinner pavilion. The power was out but dinner was already cooked and we enjoyed chicken, potatoes and corn. Ice cream sandwiches were passed out before they melted.

Power has been restored but I have not had the chance to get to the WiFi here to get you all more pictures.

Tomorrow will hopefully be a little cooler and less humid and we will need some sunshine to get things dried out.

Ms Katie
